With the Kleins

Last weekend was absolutely beautiful, maybe even a little too hot, so we had the Kleins (Rob, Michelle, Jackson and Charlotte) over for a little BBQ.

After Michelle and I polished off a bottle of white wine and were halfway through a Blueberry Pomegranate Margarita bucket from Tastefully Simple, we realized that we never take pictures of the adults. We spend so much time together yet we really don't have any good pictures together.

So we asked out resident photographer, Jackson-age 5, to take our picture. Being quite buzzed, I wouldn't say these are our idea of good pictures, but hey, they're pictures. Plus I think it's pretty cool 5 year old Jackson can take such good pics.

In case you can't count, the 4 of us
Michelle and I (I don't know why I'm hunched over-it's the wine?)
Rob and Ricardo-
we wanted to get their shorts since they were both wearing brown plaid shorts. It seemed really funny at the time, but again, we had a lot to drink. Now, sober, it's really not that funny, is it?
This weekend, Jackson's school had a big carnival to raise money for the school. Conveniently, the Klein's backyard backs up to the school field, so we were able to just walk over from their house.

On another note-I think Ella has her first crush. On Friday, I took her with me to the neurologist and one of the admins there started telling Ella she shouldn't suck her thumb and that it was gross, etc...nevermind that this woman should have minded her own business but it really freaked out Ella. She kept asking me if her thumb was gross and why she couldn't suck it. I told her that it's not gross and it's fine to suck her thumb but at some point, not now, she should start thinking about other things that calm her down and maybe try to limit the thumb sucking.

She thought about it for a bit and said, "Mommy, I don't need to suck my thumb, because Jackson calms me down." OY!

Running to the carnival
This picture cracks me up because Ella wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, but we were one of the first people to board so we had to stop at the very top to let other people on. She gripped my leg so tightly and let out some fake nervous laughter. I asked if she was a little nervous and she said, "No, this is fun...heeheehaahaa (grip on leg)"
After the Ferris Wheel, Ella rode the "Sooper Jet", yes it was spelled "Sooper" and yes she had the ride all to herself.

Then all 4 kids rode the elephants together. Sofia didn't change positions the entire ride...
Charlotte, Jackson and Ella on the pirate ship-it was near impossible getting an angle that got all 3 kids in.
Fun House
Sofia wanted to ride the "Trucks". She looked like such a little pip squeak in there by herself.

See her by herself in the last car? (click to enlarge)
While we were riding the trucks, Ella and Ricardo went do the big slide. I wish I got a picture because Ricardo said Ella was so excited. That thing was HUGE!

The perfect ending to a great Carnival!
We then went back to the Klein's house and hung out. Rob showed me his needle for the Avonex shot (we both have MS) and gave me a heart attack. I'm supposed to switch to Avonex but holy cow is that needle big and THICK. I have to rethink this Avonex...yikes.

The kids played so well that before we knew it, it was almost 9 pm! So we headed home (not before driving over our stroller, which I had left behind the car, doh!) and put the girls right to bed.

It was great spending two weekends in a row with Michelle, Rob, Jackson, and Charlotte. We are going to miss them so much when we move. :(
