Oh, Poor Mikka!

Oh, poor Mikka had a rough day on Wednesday. She spent the day at the "doggy doctor" and Ella cried for her all day long.

Two things are going on with Mikka; 1) She had a cyst/tumor growing on her right leg that we were worried about, so she had to have it removed and sent for a biopsy. We're pretty positive that it's benign; the biopsy is really for peace of mind. But now her little leg is shaved and she has stiches and she's supposed to wear her cone or according to Ella, her hat, for two weeks. Poor girl is not happy about it. Would you?

Luckily, we can afford a live in nurse. She's expensive, but she hasn't left her side all morning, so it's money well spent.


2) She tore a ligament in her left knee. They think it's her meniscus . She's having a hard time putting any weight on it at all. So, now we have to see a specialist to find out what kind of surgery she needs. Ca-ching, ca-ching.

We can't even think about the $ or else will go crazy (already $1K down). I mean it's not like we won't do the surgery, so we just have to close our eyes and ears when they tell us the total and know it's for a very valued member of the family.

Can you believe Mikka is almost 8 1/2 years old?? Where did the time go.

She's a great dog and so good to the girls and they just adore her.
